Nuremberg is an important center for arts and culture. it was home to Europe’s first printing press. During WW2 have been damaged  few buildings. However, many of the medieval buildings in the Old Town have been painstakingly restored to their former glory. Intense bombing at the end of WWII left more than 90 percent of the Old Town destroyed, but it has since been painstakingly rebuilt and today offers numerous fine examples of medieval and more contemporary architecture, especially around the historic Market Square.
