This fortress, which is the largest in the Alps, was completed in 1838 but was never actually used for the purpose of war. It served as a munition storage place until it was taken over by South Tyrol to be used for cultural purposes.

Varone Waterfalls, 1,5 h. stop 50€

This waterfall originates from the turquoise waters of the Magnone Torrent that flows below the spectacular Lago di Tenno. The watercourse crashes down into a 73-metre gorge which was dug out over time by the tireless eroding power of water that has also formed two caves: a lower one and a higher one where you can see the waters flowing into the mountain itself.
