Klaffenbach, 1 h. stop 30€

Klaffenbach Castle, “Love at first sight”,  the white Renaissance jewel, is poised above the waters of the Wuerschnitz River. However, many of the medieval buildings in the Old Town have been painstakingly restored to their former glory. Ingolstadt, 1 h. stop 25€

Ingolstadt is the headquarters of the car manufacturer Audi with an old town of gabled merchants’ houses, neatly preserved and encircled by a Neoclassical system of fortifications from the 19th century. Now the old redoubt, tower and cavalier are museums, while the city they protected has haunting Gothic and Medieval churches and civic buildings that go all the way back to the 13th and 14th centuries.
