Dresden is a gracious and beautiful city to simply enjoy, its many sights. One of the Europe’s greatest Baroque cities, 30 kilometers north of the border with the Czech Republic, stands majestically astride the Elbe River. In fact it’s hard to believe that the city was all but wiped off the map by Allied bombings in 1945.

Moritzburg Palace is one of the most impressive baroque palaces in central Europe. Reached via a tree-lined avenue, it is situated on an island in the middle of a lake. After visiting the palace, you can enjoy a romantic stroll to the enchanting Fasanenschlösschen (little pheasant castle) built in the rococo style.

This former residence of the Prussian rulers is a city of palaces and gardens in a style that’s even been given its own name: Potsdam Rococo. This beautiful city is protected under the UNESCO Palaces and Parks of Berlin and Potsdam World Heritage Site status. Make sure that magnificent Sanssouci Palace and Park will be on your itinerary.
