Nuremberg is an important center for arts and culture. it was home to Europe’s first printing press. During WW2 have been damaged  few buildings. Moritzburg Palace is one of the most impressive baroque palaces in central Europe. Reached via a tree-lined avenue, it is situated on an island in the middle of a lake. The oldest part of this historic town sits on the high west bank of the left arm of the river, along with the cathedral and the old Benedictine abbey of Michaelsberg. Intense bombing at the end of WWII left more than 90 percent of the Old Town destroyed, but it has since been painstakingly rebuilt and today offers numerous fine examples of medieval and more contemporary architecture, especially around the historic Market Square. The Old Town is a vibrant cultural center and boasts numerous events, festivals and historical tourist attractions.
