Over five centuries, merchants and artisans built hundreds of half-timbered houses down the slope in the old town and on the Münzenberg hill. There are more than 1,300 half-timbered buildings in all, which may make you wonder if you’ve stepped into the realm of fantasy.

The exquisitely decorated dome of Kladruby’s church, the pride of the local monastery welcomes you. Nuremberg is an important center for arts and culture. it was home to Europe’s first printing press. During WW2 have been damaged  few buildings. However, many of the medieval buildings in the Old Town have been painstakingly restored to their former glory. Most of the top attractions in Nuremberg are located within the historic walls, which extend some five kilometers around the Old Town.

Johannisburg castle is one of the main attractions of Aschaffenburg and its landmark; it is also one of the most important buildings of the Renaissance period in Germany. The castle is constructed of red sandstone, the typical building material of the Spessart, the hills near Aschaffenburg. It is one of the few mostly symmetrical palace buildings of the German Renaissance.

The Cathedral, formerly the collegiate parish Church of Our Lady of Adoration, has remained unfinished. On the site of the current church once stood a 12th century Romanesque church which itself was preceded by two earlier churches. Construction of the choir of a new church began in 1230.
